Sioux City, Iowa USA — Next summer, 2014, will mark the 25th anniversary of the crash of United flight 232 at Sioux Gateway Airport.
Mid America Air and Transportation Museum director Larry Finley says some special plans to commemorate the event are in the works including bringing back captain Al Haynes, who piloted the aircraft:
Finley says the flight 232 exhibit at the air museum is also being expanded thanks to recent donations:
Finley says a memorial is also being planned at the site of the crash that took place on July 19th, 1989. He says there’s also an effort underway to remodel the Fed Ex cargo plane donated by Federal Express:
The air museum is located off Harbor Drive on Expedition Court near Sioux Gateway Airport.
