Tullahoma, TN — A $2 million project to expand the Beechcraft Heritage Museum in is underway, according to organizers.
The museum is located south of the Tullahoma Regional Airport. Its entrance is off the Old Shelbyville Highway.
Known as the Bonanza/Baron Expansion, the project will double the museum’s existing Bonanza/Baron Exhibit to 36,000 square feet.
The fundraiser is being headed by Harold Bost, who is matching the effort dollar for dollar up to $1 million. Ground will be broken for the expansion at the Beech Party 2016 to be held at the museum and at the Tullahoma Regional Airport’s William Northern Field on Oct. 12-16.
The Beech Party theme will be “Through the Lens and with the Strokes of a Brush,” with events highlighting the museum’s photographers and artists.
The museum’s Recreational Aviation Foundation will host the STOL (Short Take Off & Landing) Seminar June 18-19.
“We are so excited to host this two-day seminar focusing on operating aircraft in short environments using common tricycle landing gear aircraft such as the Beech Bonanza or Cessna 182,” a museum spokesman said.
