The Boscombe Down Aviation Collection (BDAC) tells the history of Boscombe Down and explains the place it has in the history of flight and flight test. In essence the aim is to the preserve the past for the future.
Military flying began at Boscombe Down in 1917 and continues to the present day. Experimental operation began in 1940 and the site remains at the forefront for testing as the UK’s and Western Europe’s only dedicated military flight test centre. Boscombe Down has played a major role in the history of flight and flight test.
Our aim is to bring this story to life by restorations, replicas and allowing people to experience sitting in our powered cockpits.
The Museum was opened in 2010 to commemorate the sometimes forgotten role of the airfield at Bottisham in World War Two.
The museum is run by the Bottisham Airfield Museum Group who are friendly group determined to honour those who not only served at Bottisham but also those who supported them in the surrounding villages.
Our aim is to provide an interesting and informative visit for people of all ages and to share the enjoyment of the exciting world of aviation.

The BRISTOL AEROSPACE CENTRE is a new heritage museum and learning centre being planned for Filton, to the north of Bristol. It will tell the story of the region’s world-class aerospace industry – past, present and future. The project is being run by the Bristol Aero Collection Trust.

The British Airways Heritage collection has existed since the formation of British Airways. It was formed to preserve the records and artefacts of British Airways predecessor companies BOAC, BEA, BSAA and the pre-war Imperial Airways and British Airways Ltd.
The collection comprises of an extensive document archive recording the formation, development and operations of the British Airways and its predecessor companies as well as memorabilia and artefacts.
Over 130 uniforms from the 1930s to the present day are preserved as well as a large collection of aircraft models and pictures.
