Nedumbassery, Kerala, India — An aviation museum was opened at the Cochin International Airport, Nedumbassery, on Monday.
CIAL Managing Director V.J. Kurien inaugurated the museum, which is located close to the CIAL Academy and the international terminal of the airport. Visitors can take the road near the Nedumbassery police station to reach the museum, a press release said.
Interestingly, visitors will be welcomed by the Polish-built aircraft that was used for IAF training programmes until 2004. The aircraft was brought to Kochi from Secunderabad. The ground-floor of the museum complex narrates the story of the Cochin International Airport. Various models of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) rockets and aircraft are displayed here.

ISRO pavilion
The ISRO pavilion is a special attraction here. Models of the world’s first airplanes, and a model of the first India-built airplane are displayed in the section.
CIAL Director A.C.K. Nair, Executive Director A.M. Shabeer, and General Manager Thankachan K.P. were among those who were present at the inauguration of the museum, said the press release.
