Hagerstown, MD — The Hagerstown Aviation Museum will present an Open Airplane Afternoon event Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Attendees will be able to climb aboard and sit in the cockpit of the 1948 Fairchild C-82 and 1953 C-119 Flying Boxcar.

They will also see other museum aircraft, such as the 1943 Fairchild PT-19 World War II Trainer and the 1928 Kreider Reisner KR-31 biplane, all built in Hagerstown.

The museum owns 19 historic aircraft, of which 14 were built in Hagerstown.

Step back in time and experience a memorable flight in the museum’s 1943 Fairchild PT-19 Primary Trainer. Thousands of allied pilots earned their wings during World War II in this historic aircraft built by Fairchild Aircraft 70 years ago in Hagerstown.
