Woodbridge, UK — Parham Airfield Museum, near Framlingham, unveiled a new extension and exhibits during a special celebration, following recent renovation at the site, which accommodates both the 390th Bombardment Group Memorial Air Museum and the Museum of the British Resistance Organisation.

Visitors can now explore a new building containing a cafe, shop, chapel and veteran’s wall, barrack room and library. Publicity officer Bernard Smith said: “The building really suits its purpose.

“Our president Peter Kindred put his heart and soul into it – as did our volunteers.”

Sadly, low clouds meant that a planned flypast had to be cancelled but it seemed not to spoil the enjoyment of the occasion for visitors, who included a USAF veteran and two former resistance fighters.

The museum is open Sundays and bank holidays until October, from 11am-5pm, and on Wednesdays in June, July and August, from 11am-4pm.
