York, UK — An air museum near York will stage its first Thunder Day of the year this weekend.
Visitors to the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington will have the chance to join in activities with the venue’s fire team, including trying to knock bollards over with fire hoses, while historic aircraft will be competing to show just how much noise they can make at Sunday’s event.
The morning will see the SE5a Second World War bi-plane fighter and the De Havilland Devon twin-prop aircraft, which will perform a short taxi, roar into life, while the Nimrod MR2 XC250 and Victor V-Force XL231 jets will be the star attractions during the afternoon. Sunday lunch will also be available in the museum’s NAAFI restaurant.
