Anchorage, AK – For 26 years Alaskans have been able to enjoy all things aviation at our Aviation Heritage Museum.
The museum along the shores of Lake Hood pays homage to and educates Alaskans and visitors from near and far about the men and women and the planes that shaped The Last Frontier.
“With over 100 years of aviation in Alaska there’s certainly a lot to cover we never run out of exhibit ideas,” said Shari Hart who is the Executive Director at the Alaska Aviation Museum.
And those exhibits range from hand on activities to over 25 aircraft on display.
And after a final sign off from inspectors a new addition soon to open at your Aviation Museum.
Thanks to a grant from The Rasmuson Foundation and the State of Alaska and with Pen Air also pitching in to help the Museum was able to restore the Air Traffic Control Tower Cab which is now on the shore of Lake Hood overlooking the busiest seaplane base in the world.
The Tower has an amazing 360 degrees panoramic view and radios in it that stream the live freed from the tower at the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
