The Imperial War Museum (IWM) has received the major funding boost following support from South Cambridgeshire’s MP Andrew Lansley.

But, jobs are still at risk as a “number of redundancies” will take place across the five museum sites.

Diane Lees, Director-General of IWM, said: “I would like to thank the Rt Hon Andrew Lansley MP for his support, engagement and efforts to secure £8 million to support IWM’s cross-branch learning programme and the Rt Hon George Osborne MP and HM Treasury for the allocation of these funds.”

The museum will receive a portion of the £8 million funding over a period of four years.
