MILLVILLE, NJ –Many of the aircraft that ruled the runways of the nation’s first defense airport decades ago are returning this weekend for everyone to see.

The Millville Army Air Field Museum is preparing to host its sixth annual Aviation Celebration on Saturday, which will feature World War II planes and other classic aircraft for tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Four B-25 Bombers and a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter also will be on display this year.

All the aircraft will fly in, but the event itself is not an airshow.

“I think we have a great lineup,” said Lisa Jester, the museum’s executive director.

“We have over 30 aircraft that are coming. Our board member Thomas Duffy owns eight of them that will be on display, including a P-47 Thunderbolt, which we’re very proud of.”
