Wichita, KS — Lon Smith is leaving the Kansas Aviation Museum for a new position with Integrated Facilities Group.

He has been executive director at the museum since 2009.

“It has been an incredible honor to work with the board, volunteers, donors and staff members at the Kansas Aviation Museum to help the institution progress and grow.” Smith said in a statement on KAM’s website. “I’m very proud of what we have accomplished and wish the KAM all the best as they continue to build the world class aviation museum that Wichita, the Air Capital of the World, deserves.”

During his time at KAM, Smith helped spearhead numerous capital improvements, including a new restoration center, an archive center and an education activity center.
