Ron Narramore said he expects it will take four months for the construction of the 150-by-160 foot building, which will be adjacent to the four other hangars where Glover stores his aircraft. He said H.H. Howard and Sons will start the dirt work soon, and he expects the building will be done by next Spring. Narramore was enthusiastic to be part of the project.

“This will be a big tourism draw for Mount Pleasant; people will be coming here from all over Texas,” he said. He predicted within a year after completion the new museum will be featured in magazines such as Texas Highways and Texas Monthly.

Glover said he looks forward to the construction of the permanent home for the museum. The building will includes offices and function rooms, but no exhibits. He said he plans to keep the aircraft in their nearby hangars, and keep any displays with the aircraft. No aircraft will be permanently displayed in the museum headquarters.

“I don’t plan any static displays,” he said, adding he believes aircraft should to be flown.

As part of the museum, there will be ongoing restoration projects; Glover said there are four aircraft in various states of repair there now. There are 17 aircraft in flying condition in the collection. Speaking to visitors Friday morning, Glover said he considered the “jewel” to be the DC-3 Sky King.
