Earlysville, VA — John Gaertner of Blue Swallow Aircraft LLC has sent us a link to his video showing the first successful test run of the restored 0X-5 engine on his recently completed restoration of a 1918 Curtiss JN4D “Jenny”.

The aircraft is owned by Frank Root and has been restored to flying condition over a 3 1/2 year period by Blue Swallow Aircraft. The test had been delayed for some months as parts for a 100 year old magneto were tracked down.

We are eagerly waiting for the day when we can report that the old Jenny has returned to the air!

Oh, and if you’re interested in owning an original Jenny of your very own, John has another project Jenny he might be persuaded into selling.
