Denver, CO — The Colorado air and space museum Wings Over the Rockies announced Monday it has broken ground on an education and technology center at the Centennial Airport in Arapahoe County.
Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum has more than four dozen aircraft and space vehicles on display at its current location near the intersection of East Alameda Avenue and South Quebec Street in the historic Lowry neighborhood.
Construction on the Exploration of Flight center, which will create a museum addition at the Centennial Airport, will begin as part of a $21 million plan to create a number of amenities near the airport.Wings Over the Rockies Expansion
So far, the museum has raised $9 million towards that plan, which will also eventually include a Blue Sky Aviation Gallery hangar, aircraft ramp, public access road and development of a service taxi lane to the site.
